DLA Piper has hired Terry O'Regan, a specialist in international trade and maritime law, as a legal director and head of its Kuwait office. O’Regan was previously with Eversheds in its London office.

With over 20 years of experience, O’Regan has expertise in the marine, trade, energy and insurance sectors, where he has advised ship owners, charterers, insurers, state and private oil companies, traders and banks on contentious and non-contentious matters.

During his career, O’Regan spent a number of years as senior legal advisor at Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. In this role, he was responsible for all matters in relation to the sale and delivery of Kuwait's crude oil and petroleum products, and also managed all international litigation.

In Kuwait, DLA Piper operates in a joint venture with local firm NEN Al Wagayan, Al Awadhi & Al Saif.
