Hogan Lovells and Hermawan Juniarto, its erstwhile Indonesian alliance firm, have ended their association.

Irawati Hermawan, the managing partner of the Indonesian outfit, said that the two firms called off their association on “amicable terms,” and added that they still maintained a close relationship. “Our management thought about it and came to the conclusion that it was better for us to have control of where we go as a firm,” she said. “Thus we have decided to be an independent law firm."

In a statement attributed to Patrick Sherrington, Asia and Middle East managing partner, Hogan Lovells said that it was “planning a more focused offering in Indonesia in the near future which will significantly enhance our Asia offering to clients.”

Hermawan Juniarto, which is strong in infrastructure and project financing, now has seven partners and 40 associates.
