Latham & Watkins has appointed Yilong Du as a corporate partner in its Hong Kong office from Goldman Sachs, where he was an executive director and senior counsel.

Du focuses on equity capital markets deals in mainland China, Hong Kong and the U.S., as well as cross-border M&A.

Latham & Watkins has featured on a number of large IPOs in Hong Kong this year, including HKBN’s $750 million listing, Fuyao Glass’ $953 million offering and GF Securities’ $3.6 billion debut.

“Yilong is a great fit for our strategic growth in Asia, and he will play an important role in the further development of our corporate capability in Hong Kong and Mainland China. He is a strong leader and practice builder whose deep connections throughout the PRC will be an asset for our clients,” said Simon Powell, managing partner of Latham & Watkins’ Hong Kong office, in a statement.
