New Delhi-headquartered Hammurabi & Solomon (H&S) has acquired boutique law firm Seagull Law in the southern Indian city of Bangalore, thus expanding its presence in the city.

Following the acquisition, Seagull Law’s founder Bharath Babu joins H&S as partner. The six-lawyer Seagull law specialises in dispute resolution, corporate commercial transactions, real estate, intellectual property and labour matters in South India.

“Bharath’s wide range of experience in handling matters in various courts, tribunals and other fora will further strengthen our existing real estate and disputes resolution practice in the South. His skills and ability to work through complex issues coupled with experience will be a valuable asset to the firm and the clients we serve. The idea is to have a pan- India presence and serve clients on a broader basis", said Manoj Kumar, managing partner of H&S.

In September, H&S opened an office in the eastern Indian city of Patna.
