Norton Rose Fulbright has hired Anna L. Gamvros as a technology and innovation partner in Hong Kong from Baker & McKenzie.

Gamvros, who spent around three years as a partner at Bakers, specialises in IT contracts and outsourcing, telecommunications and Internet regulatory issues, as well as privacy and data protection. She was included in Computerworld’s list of top 25 privacy experts and co-authored Internet Law in Hong Kong, a publication from Thomson Reuters’ Sweet & Maxwell.

Her appointment is expected to help Norton Rose Fulbright grow its technology and innovation business in North Asia, with particular focus on the Hong Kong and China markets.

“Clients in all sectors are under increasing pressure to adopt new technologies and utilise and protect the incredibly valuable data assets that they hold,” said Stella Cramer, the firm’s head of technology and innovation in South East Asia, in a statement.

“This shift brings all kinds of high level risks for businesses and cyber security, data protection and security breach is top of mind for the C-suite. Anna will bolster the team and ensure we can meet with growing demand from clients we’re facing in this crucial area across the region.”
