Olswang strengthened its Indonesia offering after hiring Toby Grainger as a corporate partner in its Singapore office from Oentoeng Suria & Partners, Ashurst’s associate firm in Jakarta.

Grainger specialises in inbound investment and M&A transactions with a focus on banking and financial services (including cross-border corporate lending, project finance and regulatory advice), insurance, FMCG, mining and natural resources.

His practice also spans related areas including joint ventures, capital market related transactions, employment, property (including leasing), shipping and general corporate matters. Grainger’s clients include JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, Whitbread, Trafigura, Aon, and Indonesian state-owned enterprises.

“Toby has exceptional credentials working on high-profile cross-border transactions in South-East Asia and an outstanding reputation in the Indonesian market which is of great relevance to our existing international client base,” said Andrew Stott, head of Olswang Asia’s corporate team, in a statement. “His arrival is an important step in increasing our corporate offering in the region.”

Prior to joining Ashurst, Grainger worked with Allens Arthur Robinson in Sydney and Shanghai.
