Singapore-based legal start-up Lawr.co has acquired Indian lawyer-search and legal information provider LawFarm for an undisclosed amount.

Lawr.co, part of Singapore’s venture builder Sugar Ventures, is a lawyer-search service that has been operating in stealth mode since mid-2015. The acquisition will integrate LawFarm’s legal Q&A features and lawyer-finding services with Lawr.co’s in order to provide “bespoke solutions for the public in seeking the right professional for their legal needs, and at the same time positioning itself as a one-stop shop for legal content and updates,” according to Lawr.co co-founder Jieyang Huang.

Founded by Sreerupa Chowdhury and Monalisa Saha in 2013, LawFarm is an India-focused legal forum that provides legal advice, access to legal information and services, and helps users connect with lawyers. Post-acquisition, Chowdhury will assist with Lawr.co’s growth in India.
