Sidley Austin has welcomed project finance and development specialist David Gartside as a partner at its Singapore office from White & Case.
Gartside handles international projects and project financings for utilities, contractors, development banks, commercial lenders, export credit agencies, project sponsors/developers, infrastructure funds, and multilateral agencies. He also advises clients on acquisitions, restructurings as well as asset and trade financings. In addition, he has represented Japanese and Korean trading houses, contractors and financial institutions on joint overseas projects in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
Gartside is expected to expand the firm’s capabilities “in complex energy, infrastructure and asset financing transactions in all key markets in Asia,” said Matthew Sheridan, managing partner of Sidley’s Singapore office and co-leader of the firm’s international corporate finance practice in Asia, in a statement. “David’s client-service focus and in-depth market knowledge will contribute greatly to meeting the evolving needs of our clients.”
