Dacheng Wong Alliance (DCWA) has restructured to establish an independent Singapore law practice, which will be known as Aquinas Law Alliance. Established in 2012, DCWA was previously Singapore’s only China-Singapore joint law venture.
The formation of Aquinas Law comes after Dacheng Law Offices merged with multinational law firm Dentons in January 2015 and after Dentons subsequently joined forces with Rodyk & Davidson, Singapore oldest law firm, in November last year.
Under the restructuring, Dentons China lawyers who were a part of DCWA will be transferred to Dentons Rodyk & Davidson. DCWA’s remaining lawyers and staff will be regrouped into a new Singapore law practice that will be set up and managed by Aloysius Wee, DCWA’s managing principal.
Aquinas Law will continue to focus on the same areas of practice, including corporate law/M&A, dispute resolution, intellectual property and private client/international real estate. The new firm is also expected to focus on serving and bridging clients in China, India and the ASEAN region.
In addition, Aquinas Law will be the Singapore member firm of the ASEAN Legal Alliance, a network of 10 ASEAN law firms, and Praelegal, a global network of law firms with members in over 90 countries.
