Japanese law firm Anderson Mori & Tomotsune has opened an office in Bangkok, Thailand, its fifth overseas outpost.

AMT is the fourth among Japan’s Big Four law firms to open an office in the country. Mori Hamada & Matsumoto opened a Bangkok office last year, following Nishimura & Asahi (2013) and Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu (2014).

AMT’s Bangkok office, headed by partner Akitaka Anzai, is expected to work with local law firms to provide advice on general corporate, labor and employment, cross border transactions and other finance-related matters, and compliance matters.

Anzai has almost two years of experience in the region, having been seconded to Zaid Ibrahim & Co. in Kuala Lumpur and Weerawong, Chinnavat & Peangpanor in Bangkok.

Tokyo-headquartered AMT also has offices Nagoya, Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City, along with an Indonesia desk in Jakarta.
