O’Melveny & Meyers has hired Edwin Kwok as a capital markets and mergers and acquisitions partner in Hong Kong from Paul Hastings.

Kwok is the second Hong Kong capital markets partner to depart from Paul Hastings recently, after the firm’s former Hong Kong office head Sammy Li joined Hogan Lovells last week.

Kwok has experience in advising investment banks, Chinese companies, Chinese-owned state enterprises and private equity firms on their initial public offerings, cross-border acquisitions, public takeovers, privatizations, spin-offs and follow-on public and private offerings of equity and debt securities.

Kwok joined Paul Hastings from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
