Mayer Brown JSM partner Thomas So Shiu-tsung has been elected as the new president of the Law Society of Hong Kong, replacing Stephen Hung Wan-shun.

So, a former vice-president of the society, is also the chairman of its Greater China legal affairs committee, apart from being a member of its compliance and practitioner affairs panels.

The century-old society currently has more than 8,600 members.
