Singapore’s Oon & Bazul has hired Chenthil Kumarasingam as a disputes partner from fellow local outfit Quahe Woo & Palmer.

Kumarasingam has experience in handling commercial dispute matters across industries, particularly the banking, financial services, mining and aviation sectors. His practice also focuses on matters relating to investment and joint venture disputes, company and shareholder disputes, banking and securities claims, insolvency, commercial fraud, employment, professional disciplinary matters and white collar criminal matters.

His experience includes acting for an international conglomerate in the Singapore High Court and Court of Appeal of Singapore, resisting an attempt to set aside an international arbitration award involving claims of over 100 million ringgit ($25 million). He has also handled claims against a Swiss bank in Singapore for breach of contract and unauthorized transactions.

Established in 2002 by partners Oon Thian Seng and Bazul Ashhab, Oon & Bazul also has presence in Malaysia through its associated firm T S Oon & Partners in Kuala Lumpur.
