Taylor Wessing has established a branch in Hong Kong after setting up an official association with local firm HM Chan & Co.

Following the association, Taylor Wessing corporate partner Jakob Riemenschneider is relocating from Germany to Hong Kong to head up the new branch, where he will be working closely with Mark Chan, the managing partner of HM Chan.

HM Chan advises on corporate, M&A, capital markets and regulatory and compliance matters.

Taylor Wessing already has a presence in Asia through its Singapore-headquartered member firm, RHTLaw Taylor Wessing, which joined in 2011. RHTLaw’s ASEAN Plus Group network currently boasts of 950 lawyers across branch offices and affiliate firms in eight countries.

Last month, RHTLaw announced that it would be merging with Vietnam’s PBC Partners, which was previously a part of the ASEAN Plus Group.
