Herbert Smith Freehills, named Arbitration Law Firm of the Year at last week’s The Macallan ALB Hong Kong Law Awards 2016, has bolstered its Greater China arbitration ranks with the hire of Kathryn Sanger as a partner from Clifford Chance.
Sanger has 15 years of experience in arbitration and litigation proceedings in Asia with particular expertise in financial services, energy and China-related matters.
Sanger, who will be based in Hong Kong, will be working with Justin D’Agostino, the global head of the firm's dispute resolution practice, as well as partners Simon Chapman and May Tai in Hong Kong, Jessica Fei in Beijing, and Brenda Horrigan in Shanghai.
Herbert Smith Freehills' Asia disputes practice has 20 partners. Sanger will be joining the firm in October this year and will be the arbitration team's 13th arbitration partner in Asia.
