UK-headquartered TMT law firm Olswang has launched a one-man South Korea desk manned by ex-Samsung in-house counsel Steve Kim.

Kim, who will be based in Seoul, will not practice law, but instead have a business development role with a particular focus on the intellectual property practice and client support services.

Apart from managing and developing the firm's profile, he will work closely with the Olswang office in Singapore, as well as alliance firms in Hong Kong (Haldanes) and Singapore (Holborn Law).

Previously, Kim served as a senior legal counsel at Samsung and head of sales and marketing at CPA Global. He also held the post of director at the International Centre for Dispute Resolution of the American Arbitration Association.
