Singapore’s Allen & Gledhill has recently launched a public policy practice, the first law firm in the city-state to do so.

The practice will advise clients in legal and public policy matters, regulatory changes and government affairs management. It will be led by partner Adrian Ang, previously an assistant director at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and Elsa Chen, the firm’s chief economist.

In a number of countries, in particular the U.S., law firms maintain significant public policy practices. These include experienced government relations professionals who are able to influence various aspects of the policy lifecycle, from legislation to regulation and dispute resolution.
