Reed Smith has boosted its India practice with the appointment of London-based Ranajoy Basu as group co-chair.

A structured finance partner, Basu will work alongside with the group’s long-standing co-chair, Gautam Bhattacharyya, who is also an international arbitration and litigation partner. At present, Reed Smith’s India group has about 50 lawyers.

Earlier this month, Reed Smith unveiled “innovation hubs” – spaces designed for innovation and creativity – at its London and New York offices. The hubs will focus on testing new technologies that are expected to enhance client services.
