Norton Rose Fulbright has made some management changes in Asia that are set take effect in May. 

In Hong Kong, the firm appointed corporate partner Psyche Tai to lead the office. She has overseen several major Chinese property deals for the firm, including China Overseas Land & Investment’s $4.8 billion acquisition of CITIC’s property assets.

The Singapore office will likewise have a new head: banking and finance partner Yu-En Ong. He specialises in all aspects of structured finance, including acquisition finance, asset finance, structured trade and commodities finance, telecoms finance and cross-border real estate finance.

Both Tai and Ong have been with Norton Rose for 13 years.

Meanwhile, Singapore-based project finance and banking partner Nick Merritt has been named as head of Asia business strategy. He will also continue to serve as the global leader for infrastructure, mining and commodities.

In addition, Jeff Smith, the current head of Southeast Asia, will relocate to the UK, where he will advise Asian clients as a consultant.

Phillip John, the current head of North Asia, is set to retire on August 31.
