Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) has shored up its corporate practice by hiring Amit Khansaheb as well as five other partners and 32 lawyers from BMR Legal.

Khansaheb’s legal career spans nearly two decades. Prior to his four-year stint at BRM, he was with Desai & Diwanji from 1998 to 2013.

The lawyers moving to SAM specialise in corporate law, M&A, PE and venture capital. They are expected to join the firm in June, and they will be based across three locations in India – Gurugram, Bengaluru and Mumbai.

This addition will boost the firm’s numbers from 85 partners to 91, giving SAM over 470 fee earners in total.

Last July, SAM opened an office in the south Indian city of Chennai.
