Rajah & Tann has expanded in Singapore by hiring Chua Chook King, former executive director and head of shipping at TSMP Law Corp, and corporate specialist Sandy Foo from Drew & Napier.

Chua is now a partner in Rajah & Tann's shipping and international trade group in Singapore, which has about 30 lawyers focusing on shipping litigation. He is joined by fellow ex-TSMP partners Jonathan Oon and Lim Chen Chen as well as two associates.

With nearly two decades of experience focused on M&A, Foo joins as a partner in Rajah & Tann’s corporate and transactional practice. She has handled several major M&A deals in the region, including Singapore state investor Temasek’s acquisition and privatisation of SMRT Corp and ING’s sale of its private bank assets in Asia to OCBC Bank.
