Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton and Seoul-headquartered Kim & Chang have advised ING Life Insurance Korea on its $977 million listing on the Korea Exchange.

Paul Hastings and Korea’s Shin & Kim were also involved in the IPO, representing underwriters Samsung Securities and Morgan Stanley.

According to Reuters, ING Life's listing will be Korea's second-largest so far this year, after smartphone games maker Netmarble Games Corp's $2.3 billion IPO in April.

ING Life is Korea's fifth-largest life insurer based on assets and is controlled by Asia-based private equity firm MBK Partners, which will retain about 59.1 percent of the insurer after the listing, reported Reuters.

The Paul Hastings team was led by capital markets partner Dong Chul Kim.
