Yulchon is establishing a Jakarta desk at Roosdiono & Partners (R&P) in Indonesia, allowing the Seoul-headquartered firm to support and provide legal services locally for Korean companies planning to invest in the country.

The arrangement with R&P, ZICOLaw network’s member firm in Indonesia, commences next month and also aims to assist Indonesian companies wishing to invest in Korea. Attorneys Lim Min-taek and Baek Min-woo will man this operation for Yulchon, the first among Korea’s big 5 law firms to set up a Jakarta desk.

South Korea is Indonesia’s third largest investor after Singapore and Japan, investing $7.5 billion in the Southeast Asian country in the last five years. Last year, South Korea and Indonesia’s two-way trade totaled $16 billion.
