Dechert has hired corporate partner Siew Kam Boon in Singapore from K&L Gates.

Boon specialises in M&A, focusing on cross-border transactions, private equity, and emerging growth with an emphasis on pan-Asian matters.

In addition to PE funds, she has experience working with venture capital funds, sovereign wealth funds and corporate clients across various industries, including technology, healthcare and life sciences, outsourcing, media, telecommunications, FMCG, and energy, infrastructure and resources.

Prior to Boon’s three-year stint at K&L Gates, she was of counsel at O'Melveny & Myers. She began her career as an associate at Allen & Gledhill and eventually moved to White & Case.

Boon's appointment is the latest in a series of partner hirings for U.S.-headquartered firm. In March, Dechert plucked corporate specialists Xiao Yong and Nicholas Song from Vinson & Elkins for its Hong Kong and Beijing offices, respectively. In January, it added another recruit from K&L Gates: funds expert Michael P. Wong in Hong Kong.
