Jakarta-headquartered Makarim & Taira S. has named Lia Alizia as its new managing partner, succeeding Rahayu Hoed, who is now a senior partner at the firm.  

Alizia, whose appointment became effective in May, was a partner in the corporate, commercial and litigation department, advising businesses from digital startups to multinational firms. She specialised in anti-bribery matters as well as employment and intellectual property rights in Indonesia. 

She joined Makarim & Taira in 2000 as a partner.
