Stephenson Harwood has hired Laurence Ho as a partner in the firm’s private wealth team in Hong Kong from Withers.

The hire comes a year or so after the firm added Erik Wallace as a partner in its Hong Kong private wealth team, also from Withers.

Ho's practice is focused on international tax, trust and estate planning matters for high-net worth individuals, families, estates and fiduciaries. He has advised on U.S. expatriation and pre-immigration matters, as well as counselling individuals and families on their U.S. tax compliance and foreign bank account reporting obligations.

"Laurence's arrival marks an important step in the growth and development of our international private wealth practice," said James Quarmby, who leads the firm's private wealth team, in a statement. "His experience and understanding of US tax and estate planning matters will complement our existing capabilities, and enables us to expand the support we offer our clients."

Stephenson Harwood now has seven lawyers in its private wealth team, while Withers has 10, according to their respective websites.
