Job Description
A Global Bank is looking for a Paralegal on a 12-month basis to join their Litigation and Internal Investigations team.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting with managing external legal costs of (including budgeting and accrual)
- Assisting with engaging external counsel and monitoring cases assigned to them; auditing and reviewing invoices and legal fees for accuracy
- Engaging with the team's primary vendors, e.g. eDiscovery vendors, managed document review firms
- Ensuring that all administrative requirements for investigations are met
- Requesting data from stakeholders across the Bank on behalf of the lead investigators
- Preparing for interviews (e.g. collating evidence, interview binders); attending investigative interviews and taking notes
- Carrying out investigative work
- Completing open-source and legal research
Key requirements:
- 3-5 years’ experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate law environment or in a financial institution
- Law degree graduate
- Understanding of substantive legal concepts, court practices and procedures, legal research and documents, procedures and terminology
- Proficiency with computers, incl. Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Chinese language capability (speaking, reading and writing)
