Virtus Law, Stephenson Harwood's alliance firm in Singapore, has a hired corporate specialist Parikhit Sarma as a partner from Morgan Lewis Stamford. 

Sarm advises clients on corporate and commercial transactions, in particular, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, capital markets-related matters, banking and finance, and regulatory compliance.

At his previous firm, Sarma was the deputy leader of the India practice, which he helped launch and develop. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis Stamford, he spent more than two years at Duane Morris & Selvam.

"Parikhit has an established track record in capital markets as well as mergers and acquisitions, which complements our existing practices," said Daryll Ng, managing partner of Virtus Law in a statement. "His experience and deep involvement in both the Singaporean and Indian markets enhances the support we can provide our clients."

The Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance was established in 2014. Currently, Virtus Law and Stephenson Harwood’s Singapore office have around 50 fee-earners in total, including 17 partners.

Global law firm Morrison Foerster has announced that private equity veteran Scott Jalowayski will rejoin the firm as a partner in Singapore. Jalowayski most recently co-chaired the global private equity group at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
