Khaitan & Co, Allen and Gledhill and Trilegal are advising Malaysia’s IHH Healthcare Bhd on its likely successful bid of up to $1.1 billion for India’s Fortis Healthcare, which is being counselled by Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Luthra & Luthra.
According to Reuters, the offer caps a months-long bidding war for control of the Indian company that drew interest from domestic and international suitors. IHH’s offer is the third one that cash-strapped Fortis has approved this year, with a previous offer being shot down by shareholders. However, this time there is more confidence of the deal being approved, Reuters added.
The CAM team was led by managing partner Cyril Shroff and corporate partner Ruetveij Pandya, while the Luthra & Luthra team was led by partners Sundeep Dudeja and Vaibhav Kakkar.
The Khaitan & Co team was led by partners Haigreve Khaitan, Anand Mehta and Arindam Ghosh, with partner Sudhir Bassi handling the open offer, and partner Sanjeev Kapoor taking care of the litigation aspect.
The Trilegal team was led by partners Harsh Pais and Upasana Rao.
The Allen & Gledhill team was led by partners Tan Su May, Christopher Koh, Mark Quek, Andrew Yeo, Vincent Leow, Ankit Goyal, Foong Yuen Ping, Teh Hoe Yue, Daren Shiau and Scott Clements.
