We are working on an exclusive reatined search for the most senior member of the newly formed Singapore Office of this Global Sports Rights Holder.
As Head of Business Affairs, you will be responsible for the management of enforcement efforts in APAC.
Your main work will be to focus on our client’s expanding anti-piracy efforts in the region. However, a large part of the role is envisaged to involve lobbying for change in the region to bring about a more facilitative enforcement legal framework
You will manage the office set up and will be responsible for attending and providing the client’s positioning at all relevant conferences and meetings relating to anti-piracy matters, presenting at such where appropriate. You may also represent the client at more general events in the region where a more general presence is required
The Ideal Candidate
You will have great leadership skills and be exceptional at building and enhancing relationships with a wide variety of people and organizations including law enforcement, anti-piracy vendors, other rights owners, Government Departments, and broadcasters.
Representing the client’s first international office you will be expected to excel at report writing and presenting, ensuring the business is kept informed of all relevant developments and work streams in your area out of the Singapore Office.
You may be qualified as a lawyer and be able to present and lobby, or you will be a lobbyist who is familiar with anti-piracy issues and relevant laws in this space, particularly copyright.
Requirements for the Role
- Either a lawyer or lobbyist familiar with local copyright laws.
- Be able to be an ambassador for the client with licensees, government officials, other rights owners
- Skilled in lobbying and policy work local to the region
- An expert in anti-piracy but if not, demonstrate a strong awareness
- Be a confident speaker and presenter
- Be able to converse with investigators and local law enforcement as well as other lawyers/lobbyists as relevant
- Extensive management experience
- Be familiar with the region if at all possible.
