A business with games and programming in over 200 countries and territories in 50 languages with merchandising sales in more than 120,000 stores in over 100 countries on 6 continents and a social media presence with over 1 billion followers.

We are looking for a senior lawyer that will thrive in a working culture that is young, entrepreneurial and hands-on working alongside a team of international lawyers advising on business and strategy on areas such as digital media, TV, sponsorship, licensing, IP, social media and merchandising.

Key requirements

1. The ideal candidate is most likely currently working in an in-house legal capacity at a business with a global presence
2. Fluent in both Mandarin and English
3. International work experience outside of mainland China essential
4. PRC, English, Hong Kong, New York or California bar qualification – preferably dual qualification.
5. Ability to multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
6. Has legal technical and analytical skills balanced by business acumen

Experience Profile

1. Subject-matter expertise in TV and digital media and sports businesses highly preferred
2. Experience in commercial exploitation of IP a must (patents experience not helpful)
3. Deep and strong track record in a wide variety of general corporate and commercial matters, especially contracts
4. Solid experience in cross-border joint venture and M&A considered a plus (pure experience in M&A and JVs will not be considered)
5. Has stature, social and presentational skills, strength of character and unquestioned integrity
