Job Description

We are looking for a legal counsel that will thrive in a working culture that is young, entrepreneurial and hands-on working alongside a team of international lawyers advising on business and strategy on areas such as digital media, TV, sponsorship, licensing, IP, social media and merchandising.

A business with games and programming in over 200 countries and territories in 50 languages with merchandising sales in more than 120,000 stores in over 100 countries on 6 continents and a social media presence with over 1 billion followers.

Key requirements

  • Proven ability to review and draft commercial contracts
  • Knowledge of IP (especially trademark-related) rights preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and complete work on time under tight deadlines
  • Fluency in both Chinese/Mandarin and native English (verbal and written)
  • Strong interest in the sports industry
  • Experience in communicating with clients (not just internal law firm communications) preferred
  • Must be highly motivated, proactive, self-starter with high energy and team spirit
  • Strong interpersonal skills 

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience including at least 3 years of post-law school solid law firm experience in China working with both local and international lawyers in an energetic and active environment
  • Multinational company exposure preferred
  • Overseas study and working background highly preferred
  • PRC Law degree required
  • Undergraduate and/or LLM from good overseas universities/law schools highly preferred
