Asian Legal Business (ALB) is pleased to reveal the list of finalists for the 3rd annual Philippine Law Awards, the foremost awards event for the country’s legal profession. The winners will be announced at a black-tie event on Friday, Oct 26, 2018, at Makati Shangri-La, Manila.

The 2018 edition of the awards features a number of new categories, including International Law Firm of the Year, Transportation and Logistics Law Firm of the Year as well as the Projects, Energy and Infrastructure Law Firm of the Year.

A total of 161 nominations have been received during the months-long research process. These dealmakers, firms and in-house teams are to be congratulated for their outstanding achievements in the legal profession over the past year.  

Quisumbing Torres is the frontrunner this year, with a total of 16 nominations in firm and individual categories. Close behind are SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan, Gatmaytan Yap Patacsil Gutierrez & Protacio. Among international firms, Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, Latham & Watkins, Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and Skadden, Arps, Meagher & Flom will be going head-to-head in the International Law Firm of the Year category.

For the Philippine In-House Team of the Year, the strong list of finalists includes Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Accenture, Metro Pacific Investments Corp and Sun Life (of Canada (Philippines).
