CMS Holborn Asia, the Singapore foreign law alliance (FLA) of CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang, has hired two construction and infrastructure specialists, Kelvin Aw and Lynette Chew, as directors from Morgan Lewis Stamford.
Aw has experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure and power projects, covering both front-end and dispute resolution. Meanwhile, Chew’s main practice areas are in infrastructure, construction and engineering projects.
Aw and Chew worked together at the legacy Harry Elias Partnership, before leaving in 2010 to start their own firm, Inca Law in 2010. The legacy Stamford Law Corporation took over that firm in 2013.
Singapore law firm Holborn Law was previously in an alliance with Olswang, one of the three firms that merged to form the current CMS in 2016. Following the merger, CMS entered into an FLA with Holborn.
The arrival of Aw and Chew takes the number of directors at Holborn to four. The others are managing director Lakshanthi Fernando, and Jeremy Tan, who heads the TMT practice.
Over the past few months, CMS has been on a hiring spree. In August this year Shirley Lau & Co., the Hong Kong associate firm of CMS, snapped up a seven-member insurance team from RPC.
