Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy has appointed project finance and infrastructure specialist David Gartside as the head of its Seoul office from Sidley Austin, where he was a partner based in Singapore.

Gartside is experienced in handling international projects and project financings for utilities, contractors, development banks, commercial lenders, export credit agencies, project sponsors/developers, infrastructure funds, and multilateral agencies.

Gartside joined Sidley in 2016 as a partner from White & Case’s Singapore office, where he spent more than three years. He previously had a nearly-six-year stint at Allen & Overy in Tokyo. During that time, he worked at the Export-Import Bank of Korea on secondment.

The Milbank website currently lists only one Seoul-based lawyer on its website: associate Brian Youn.

ALB has reached out to Milbank for further comment.
