Winston & Strawn has hired Khoon Jin (KJ) Tan as a partner in Hong Kong from rival U.S. firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.

Tan’s practice focuses on IPOs and compliance. He also advises on M&As, restructurings, and financing arrangements.

Prior to his time at Wilson Sonsini, Tan served as the managing director of Macquarie Capital (Hong Kong). He earlier worked at the London, Hong Kong, Beijing, Jakarta, and Singapore offices of the legacy Herbert Smith.

Winston also recently relocated Steven Grimes from Chicago to Hong Kong as head of the firm’s Asia litigation practice.

Tan’s arrival takes the number of lawyers at Winston’s Hong Kong office to 15, including five partners.
