Big Four firm Deloitte, which has been steadily growing its presence in Asia, has appointed Hirokazu Ina and Takashi Tanazawa as partners in Tokyo from Jones Day, where they both spent more than 13 years.

Ina, who joins as a partner in Deloitte’s finance practice, advises on securitisations repackaging, aircraft and ship finance, real estate transactions, overseas real estate investments, project, development and construction, renewable energy, M&A, corporate restructuring, capital policy, buy-out finance, derivatives, capital markets, fund structuring, financial institutions regulatory issues and other complex transactions, as well as on regulatory issues.

Tanazawa, who was an of counsel at Jones Day, joins the labour and employment practice at Deloitte. He has more than 20 years of experience in dispute resolution, defending companies in a variety of industries, and also expertise in U.S. civil litigation and international arbitration. Prior to joining Jones Day, Tanazawa was a district court judge in the Supreme Court of Japan.

With the addition of Ina and Tanazawa, Deloitte’s Japan office now has 21 legal professionals, according to its website

Ina and Tanazawa join days after J. E. Jamison & Co., Deloitte’s Hong Kong legal arm, hired lawyer Norris Yang as a partner from Zhong Lun Law Firm.
