Morrison & Foerster has appointed Jon Ornolfsson as a partner in the firm’s global project finance group in Singapore from Ashurst.

Ornolfsson is the second project finance partner to join the firm’s Singapore office this year, following the arrival of Tessa Davis in May. He is also the sixth partner-level lateral for the firm in Asia this year, the others being antitrust and investigations partner Daiske Yoshida in Tokyo, capital markets partner Ke Huang in Hong Kong, and corporate partners Ruomu Li and Lucy (Qiong) Lu in Shanghai and Beijing, respectively.

Ornolfsson, who has more than a decade of experience, advises on cross-border energy and infrastructure matters. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, project development, and project finance in the energy sector, including LNG-to-power, renewables, and oil and gas.

After starting his career at Ashurst, Ornolfsson spent nine years with Herbert Smith Freehills in Tokyo and Singapore. He re-joined Ashurst 2016.
