King & Wood Mallesons has expanded its Singapore office with the hire of banking specialist John Shum as a partner from White & Case, and relocated funds partner Will McCosker from Sydney.

At White & Case, where he spent more than 17 years, Shum focused on traditional bank lending, structured finance, project finance, and restructuring. He is experienced in syndicated, acquisition, leveraged, trade and share-backed bank financing in Asia.

The additions of Shum and McCosker take the number of partners at KWM’s Singapore office to five.

In June, KWM hired Katherine Ke as a banking partner in Hong Kong from Clifford Chance.
