Du Yilong, former Beijing managing partner of Latham & Watkins, has join U.S. private equity firm Warburg Pincus as co-general counsel for China and Southeast Asia. 

According to Warburg, Du, who is based in Hong Kong, will share the role with former Loeb & Loeb partner Frank Marinaro.

Du joined Latham’s Hong Kong office as a corporate partner in 2015 from Goldman Sachs before moving to Beijing. He spent six years at Goldman as executive director and senior counsel, leading the legal efforts for most of the bank’s investment banking transactions for China.

Du focuses on equity capital markets deals in mainland China, Hong Kong and the U.S., as well as cross-border M&A. He recently represented the joint sponsors in Shenwan Hongyuan Group’s $1.16 billion Hong Kong IPO.

PAG GC to join MoFo Tokyo as partner
