Davis Polk & Wardwell has appointed Martin Rogers as the chair of the firm’s Asia practice and Li He and Miranda So as co-heads of the firm’s Hong Kong office. The trio replace William Barron, who previously held both the roles.
Rogers, who joined Davis Polk from Clifford Chance in late 2012, has nearly 30 years of experience in Asia. He focuses on corporate governance, complex litigation, dispute resolution, regulatory, white-collar crime and fintech/regtech matters.
Li He, who has been with Davis Polk, has experience in capital markets, M&A and other general corporate matters, especially in TMT, healthcare, education and FIG industries. He has advised new economy companies such as Tencent, Meituan Dianping, iKang, and has also led on the restructurings and IPOs of Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) and Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). He was named as one of ALB’s Client Choice Top 20 Lawyers in China in 2014.
Meanwhile, So has spent over 16 years with Davis Polk & Wardwell. She joined the firm as an associate in 2003 and was promoted to partner in 2011. So focuses on M&A and private equity matters, acting for M&A, foreign direct investments, pre-IPO financings, joint ventures, going-private transactions, PIPEs, restructurings and other securities and general corporate matters.
Davis Polk’s Hong Kong office, which is the firm’s largest non-U.S. office, recently lost counsel Kevin So to Howse Williams. The office currently has 11 partners, 11 counsel and over 70 lawyers.
