Hogan Lovells is set to welcome back Laurence Davidson as a partner in the firm’s corporate practice in Hong Kong from Chinese investment conglomerate HNA Group, where he was a senior counsel.

Davidson, who spent more than 15 years at Hogan Lovells before moving to HNA, is the law firm’s second corporate partner addition this year following the hire of Stephanie Tang from Shearman & Sterling. The firm also lost Steven Tran to Mayer Brown.

Davidson joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in London in 2002 and moved to Hong Kong in 2006. He became a counsel in 2013, holding that title when he departed for HNA. With a regional practice focusing on public and private M&A and private equity, Davidson has particular expertise in infrastructure, natural resources and real estate.

Once Davidson joins on Nov. 11, Hogan Lovells will have 16 partners in Hong Kong.
