Linklaters has hired Andrew Payne, who specialises in distressed M&A, debt and special situations, as a partner in the firm’s Singapore office from DLA Piper.

Payne spent close to three years at DLA, joining the firm from PE firm Clearwater Capital Partners, where he was as a legal counsel. His experience spans managing credit and equity investments and disposals, downside planning for distressed investments and structuring of investments and fund platforms.

Payne’s arrival takes the number of partners at Linklaters’ Singapore office to 16. He earlier worked for O’Melveny & Myers and the legacy SJ Berwin.
