Big Four professional services firm KPMG has launched a legal offering in Thailand, as the firm continues to grow its legal presence in Asia.
KPMG made its foray into the legal services space in Asia after establishing affiliated law firm SF Lawyers in Hong Kong in January last year. Since then, it has expanded its network to Indonesia after entering an alliance with local firm Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo.
KPMG Legal in Thailand will focus on the areas of commercial and corporate law, M&A, employment law, legal compliance and investigation, and privacy law. The team consists of more than 50 legal staff, including 25 lawyers.
Charoen Phosamritlert, CEO of KPMG in Thailand, Myanmar and Laos, described the latest office as a natural next step in the firm’s global strategy. “With KPMG Legal and our strong background in various business industries, we will be able to provide our customers with a holistic legal counsel service backed by a team of business-savvy legal advisors,” he said.
