Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas has advised India’s Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) on its 135.72-billion-rupee ($1.89 billion) acquisition of a 75 percent stake in Krishnapatanam Port Company (KPCL), which was represented by Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas.

This is the largest acquisition in the port sector in India. Krishnapatnam Port, located in Andhra Pradesh, is the second-largest private sector port in India with multi-cargo facility.

According to Reuters, the deal will help APSEZ meet its target of handling 400 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo by 2025.
