Cavenagh Law, the Singapore formal law alliance of Magic Circle firm Clifford Chance, has appointed Paul Tan as a partner in its cross-border litigation practice from Big Four firm Rajah & Tann. He will officially start on Sept. 1.
Tan has represented multinational organisations, global insurers, financial institutions, and Asian governments on all aspects of public and private international law.
His most recent work includes representing Lesotho in its application before the Singapore courts to set aside a treaty award, and a government’s multi-billion claim on a oil exploration service contract.
Tan joined Rajah & Tann in 2007. In 2012, aged 34, he was made a partner of the firm, becoming the youngest person to achieve the feat at the time.
When Tan joins, Cavenagh Law will have five partners.
