U.S. firm K&L Gates has strengthened its Hong Kong office with the hire of Sook Young Yeu, Scott Peterman and William Ho as partners in its integrated funds and private equity practice from Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe.

Orrick had announced in March that it would be closing its four-partner office in Hong Kong by this month. Yeu and Peterman were partners at Orrick, while Ho was an of counsel. The other two partners at Orrick’s Hong Kong office are Erica Chong and David Halperin.

Ho specialises in private equity, venture capital, as well as M&A transactions, while Yeu and Peterman primarily handle private equity and venture capital funds, and private REITs.

The arrival of the trio takes K&L Gates’ partner headcount in Hong Kong to 16.
