U.S. firm King & Spalding has strengthened its Singapore office with the hire of energy partners Anthony Patten and Lachlan Clancy from Shearman & Sterling. Clancy will relocate to Tokyo shortly.

Both Clancy and Patten, who were at Shearman for more than six years each, advise on corporate, project development and finance matters in the oil and gas industry with a focus on LNG-related work. They have advised Asia-based clients on international investments.

Prior to joining Shearman & Sterling, Clancy and Patten worked with Australian law firm Allens. Patten earlier spent five years at Ashurst.

Both lawyers join the firm’s Asia CFI energy team, which includes partners Andrew Brereton, Simon Cowled, Mark Davies, Kelly Malone, John McClenahan, Richard Nelson, and Merrick White.
