Indian boutique law firm Algo Legal has hired investment funds specialists Abhinav Bhalaik and Richie Sancheti as partners in Mumbai from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Nishith Desai Associates, respectively.

Previously a partner at SAM, Bhalaik has more than a decade of experience in corporate, M&A, restructuring and private equity.

Sancheti, a former head of the investments funds practice at Nishith Desai, oversees structuring and raising capital across strategies and across jurisdictions. He also advises clients on fund structures and market terms to be considered, as well as on ongoing fund operational matters.

The arrival of Bhalaik and Sancheti takes the number of partners at Algo Legal to eight.
