Magic Circle law firm Clifford Chance has named banking and finance lawyer Dauwood Malik as the managing partner of its Hong Kong office.

Malik had previously served on the firm’s global partnership council and as knowledge partner for the Asia-Pacific. He joined the Magic Circle firm in 2007 and focuses on corporate credit, infrastructure financing and real estate development.

The appointment is the latest in the series of leadership changes for Clifford Chance, with Connie Heng set to replace Geraint Hughes as the Asia Pacific regional managing partner and Singapore-based funds and investment partner Kai-Niklas Schneider being elected to its global leadership group earlier this month.

Global law firm Morrison Foerster has announced that private equity veteran Scott Jalowayski will rejoin the firm as a partner in Singapore. Jalowayski most recently co-chaired the global private equity group at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
